Google introduces communities to Google plus- features and uses

Want to know what is the use of the communities on Google plus? Or thinking what difference the communities have from FB groups? Read this article to learn how to use communities on Google Plus and for what all it can be used for.

Google recently launched Communities feature on Google Plus in line with the Groups feature on Facebook. This update is in a series of updates that Google has been doing to promote and integrate all its services with Google Plus.

A few days back Google has introduced the +1 button for Google Play apps.

Though Google has been running Google Groups which is also a community feature but the communities on Google Plus have more of a social integration to them in addition to better capabilities to add images and videos.

In the words of senior vice president of Google, Vic Gundotra "With Google+ Communities there's now a gathering place for your passions,".

The Communities feature is now accessible to the users from the left hand side on the navigation bar.

There are some features of the Communities which are different from the groups on Facebook:
1. Categories within the Communities to help better organise the posts for easy navigation according to your interests.
2. A automatic moderation system which identifies promotional actives like posting of external links or spam posts containing unacceptable language.
